I love shoes. A lot. To me, there's nothing better than a new pair of shoes, with that new leather [or more oft "leather"] smell, and the stiffness of the sole.
I'm also one of those people that always ends up buying the conditioning lotion, protective spray, or whatever the salesperson pushes on you when you go to pay for your purchase. But in the end I always use them, every so often polishing and buffing until I'm satisfied.
The other day our insurance reimbursements came in, so I deposited my cheque in the bank and skipped off to Aldo to find black winter boots. While I could have [and probably should have] spent the money on something I reallllly needed, such as groceries or pants or socks, I said screw it.
And so I spent $90 on a pair of plain black square toed leather boots with a two and a half inch heel. Not exactly practical when it's snowy and icey, but I'll sure look good!
And so I brought them home, gave them a nice coating of mink oil protectant, shined, and buffed them before putting them admiringly in the closet with with the rest of my shoes.
