Yesterday afternoon my favourite aunt and uncle so kindly were able to take me to Toronto to pick LibraryBoy up from the airport. After a neverending walk through the parking garage and terminal, we discover that his plane has been delayed for half an hour so we had to occupy ourselves. My aunt and I sat by the window, watching this young family [husband and wife, two babies, plus someone else who was driving] try to cram all the kids, luggage, strollers and car seats into a teeny tiny car. We gave them names, John and Sue, and made up dialogue. Is there anything more fun than people watching at the airport?
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, his plane landed and the passengers began to trickle in to pick up their luggage. Another eternity later he came out the doors with all of his stuff, and we embraced and had a quick kiss. Frankly I just wanted to maul him, but with my aunt and uncle right there [and watching] I figured it would be best to be a little more chaste and wait to any molesting at home in private.
So we brought him home, he met my parents, my brother, and the dog. After chatting with the family for a bit, we settled in and watched The Daily Show just like we used to, and managed part of Conan before we both decided it was time to hit the sack.
It's so horribly corny and cheesey, but I feel as though a missing piece of me has been put back into place.
