I can't sleep. I feel tired, but I'm awake. The minute my head hits the pillow, my mind reels and spins with thoughts that I shouldn't be having, mixed with the pleasure of Return of the King winning all 11 awards it was nominated for.
Every time someone's name from RotK was called out after the rustling of the envelope, I broke into a huge grin. It's unbelievable how much joy Peter Jackson has brought to my life.
I really enjoyed the Oscars this year. I loved watching for LotR people in the crowd, looking for any sign of Domlijah groping, looking at Ian being so posh, and cute Fran all shy and trying to avoid the spotlight.
So now that it's all over, I'm sitting here willing myself to be tired. I don't have any reason to get up tomorrow, but I'd rather be in bed earlier. I'm listening to Five Days in July, and thinking about summer. This album is summer, even if Hasn't Hit Me Yet talks about December and snow...I'll forgive Greg for that one.
