Exams are done, classes are done, assignments are DONE! Three weeks of field work and I'm a college graduate. Whoop whoop!
Things are going swimmingly for me right now, I have to say. I wrote my final two exams on Friday, and afterwards LibraryBoy and I headed down to the campus "pub" [I use the term loosely!] with a group of people for a drink to celebrate. Who was half in the bag from one beer? Heather was! I hadn't eaten a good 5 hours, and I'm a lightweight as is, so I sure was feeling the effects of my one, lame Corona. Afterwards LibraryBoy and headed out to see the movie Fever Pitch. Excellent movie, and a total mirror of LibraryBoy and I. We headed home afterward, hand in hand discussing...engagement rings.
I don't know how it came up, but it did. Score 463 for us, neither one of us sees the point in a huge rock. Now, we aren't engaged, although last night something happened that confused the hell out of both of us:
The Flash I am Ben. says:
I'll just have to marry you so we can get a place.
Heather-- Section 18, row G, seat 15: $70. Bus fare: $3.60. Subway: $8. Screaming so loud you lose your voice: PRICELESS! says:
Oh, gee, what a shame.
Heather-- Section 18, row G, seat 15: $70. Bus fare: $3.60. Subway: $8. Screaming so loud you lose your voice: PRICELESS! says:
I'd HATE to spend the rest of my life with you.
The Flash I am Ben. says:
Did I just propose? and you accept?
The Flash I am Ben. says:
I'm lost, afterall I am a man.
We were only half joking, I might add. I even wound up sending him photos of the kind of ring I'd like to have [a claddagh with a stone for the heart], and he totally dug it. It's only been a month and a half, but we both realize that we have something pretty special that doesn't come along every day. And the fact that talking about marriage with him doesn't scare me probably says something.
So, I guess you could say that I'm sort of engaged. Weird.

Well, at this stage of things I wouldn't take any of that too seriously, but who knows? You may just be one of those couples.
Yeah, that's just it. Honestly, I can see myself marrying him [and vice versa] sometime down the road. If it does happen, it won't be for quite some time.
I just have such a good feeling about this, you know? Our life goals are so similar, and our idealogies.
I wanna be at your wedding! I'll come bearing books and wedding lube.
