Outdoor staff meeting + ice cream sandwiches + relaxed atmosphere = the most enjoyable meeting I've been to since I started.

Until 3/4 of the way through, that is, when my predacessor let everyone know that we were going to start acquiring eBooks, which was a surprise to everyone but her and the head librarian. It hadn't even been mentioned in our last management team meeting, she just sprung it on us. While this is exciting and interesting news, I was mildly annoyed by the fact that I knew nothing about it, and I'm the one who catalogues all the materials coming in.

Then again, I'm sure I won't be trusted with the eBooks until, oh, next year, since she wouldn't want me to screw it up.

Some days this job makes me want to slit my wrists.
