New books I'd like to finally read this fall:

The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova
The Night Watch - Sarah Waters
Until I Find You - John Irving
Black Fly Season - Giles Blunt
Life Mask - Emma Donoghue
Dear Scott, Dearest Zelda - Jackson Bryer [editor]
The Fourth Bear - Jasper Fforde [which I haven't yet bought, but will]
Son of a Witch - Gregory Maguire [see above note]

Books I'd like to reread:

Little Women - Louisa May Alcott
Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn - Betty Smith
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe - Fannie Flagg
East of Eden - John Steinbeck
Flowers in the Attic - V. C. Andrews

I also want to re-read The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, but I'm saving those for winter. They just say winter read to me.

What a great fuckin list. Night Watch is on my list, too, as I recall loving something by Sarah Waters. I even have Affinity on my shelf, unread.
Oh, Tipping the Velvet, that's it. Good to start but turned way too lesbo-y for me in the middle. I just couldn't relate or care.

Life Mask is on my list, too. Slammerkin rocked.

And Blunt's new book, By the Time You Read This. Blackfly Season didn't dazzle.

Affinity was good, but not my favourite by Sarah Waters. I loved Tipping the Velvet, I didn't mind how lesbo-y it got...I think my mom picked it up once and read the back and was shocked. Then she took me aside and asked me if I was leso-curious, and that it was a-okay if I was. Hilarious and true!

Hmm, too bad about the Blunt. I picked it up for $6.99 so I can't complain too much.
