This morning I trudged off the bus stop at the wonderful hour that is 8 in the morning. Got to the next bus stop, got off, and transferred to my next bus, which was overcrowded. I had to stand up, which is rather hard at said hour, but I managed, despite the barge of a man in front of me, and then the woman with her massive stroller.

I made it to my field placement, and found the library. My supervisor took me on a tour of the dinky library and then took me upstairs to see the office and staff room. The best part of the staff room is the coffee maker, which makes like, 5 different kinds of coffee plus hot chocolate and is the size of a friggin' fridge. And it's freeeeeeee! Free coffee=a v. v. happy me.

I'm too tired to type up a longer report so here are some highlights/just plain weird shit:

1. It's been decided that on Friday morning I get to man the library all by myself. Woot! Okay, it's technically a P.D. day, so there will likely be no kids coming in...but dammit, I am the master of the domain! Mwuahahah!

2. One of my first tasks was checking out books for the kindergarten class that came in. They were so cuuuute, and they were all checking out Hanukkah books.

3. I may or may not be sent to some book expo thingy next week.

4. An eighth grader seems to have developed a crush on me, and hung around the desk during lunch and recess trying to make small talk. He was smmmarmy.

5. I forgot how good juice boxes are.
